The Keltic Cross is the main or most commonly used layout in Tarot. Of course, readers find what's most comfortable for them or feels right to them, but the Keltic Cross seems to be most agreed upon because it covers a person's life story so completely. So, in interpreting the Cross reading, here's a helpful suggestion. There are 32 categories for each card. Each position of each card covers: past, present or future. For each position of a card, you only interpret those categories as past, present, or future, depending on how the card laid out in the reading.
So, for this particular reading, we could say that card 1 represents the basis of the matter of the reading, or that which brought you to now. Card 2 represents where you are now, in this reading. Card 3 represents your hopes or fears. Card 4 represents present and passing, or your recent past. Card 5 represents the forces that are for or against you. Card 6 represents the near future. Card 7 represents how the near future will evolve. Card 8 represents the effects of others on you and/or new turns of events. Card 9 represents you in the environment of the reading. Card 10 represents the outcome or summation of the entire reading.
There are actually 2 ways to use the Zodiac Spread. One method is to use it in predicting events by assigning a Zodiac house to each card and the other is to use it for a month-by-month forecast, where each astrological house is assigned a month of the calendar year.
Significance of the Card Positions:
The first house: Deals with your self-expression, identity, or how you see yourself. (Read the Focus category.)
The second house: This represents tangible assets, personal income, and earning capacity. (Read Finances. )
The third house: This house governs intellect and communication, mental expression, letters, writings, and relatives. (Read Papers, Mail, News, Family.)
The fourth house: This rules your home, property, environmental experiences, and domestic affairs. (Read The Home.)
The fifth house: This is associated with pleasurable pursuits, romance, entertainment, and speculative ventures. (Read Romance, Pleasure, Fortune.)
The sixth house: This pertains to working conditions, job efficiency, obtaining or holding a job, and one’s relationships with other employees, as well as matters associated with health, sickness, and nutrition. (Read Work/Career, The Physical Body.)
The seventh house: This refers to partnerships, agreements, and mergers, as well as marriage, divorce, business relationships, and close personal relationships. (Read Unions.)
The eighth house: This house governs death, rebirth, legacies, and inherited assets. (Read Endings, New Beginnings, Inheritance.)
The ninth house: This is a very important house in that it governs spiritual guidance and teachings which work toward developing self-knowledge. It also refers to travel and lengthy journeys. (Read Special Guidance/Esoteric, Best Course of Action, Travel.)
The tenth house: This house describes your goals, ambitions, achievements, and worldly attainments. (Read Desire, Success.)
The eleventh house: This house is associated with friendships and/or affiliations which help to advance your personal objectives. (Read Friends/Others.)
The twelfth house: This is also a significant house in that it represents a blind spot in your makeup that could cause limitation or unnecessary suffering. (Read Anxiety.)
The summation: This is the final result of all the preceding cards. (Read Outcome.)
Each of the 32 categories are represented by a card. This reading is huge, because it's like clients receive a complete reading for each card, in each of the 32 categories. (and people wonder WHY this bad boy costs so much more than everything else I offer!!!) Actually, it should be listed in email readings because it's a lot of information, so a lot for me to talk about, if I did this over the phone.
